At three years old, Carrington II could already be seen with a basketball in his hands as captured in a news segment with Channel 4 anchor, Jim Vance and Sports Guru, George Michael. By age five, he was the star of his Peewee League Team. Thus began an athletic career spanning his toddler years through adulthood that would include basketball, football and track.

Affectionately known as “Lil Cee,” Carrington has been an honor student since grade school. He attended Holy Family Catholic School in Temple Hills, MD and graduated as Salutatorian in 2003. Lil Cee followed his father's footsteps and attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC (2003-2006). He transferred to Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, MD and graduated with honors in 2007. Lil Cee was accepted to multiple colleges and universities. He elected to be a man of Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. While at Morehouse, he again opted to follow his father, making a lifetime commitment to their beloved fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, in the fall of 2010. In May 2011, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Lil Cee eventually pursued a Master’s Degree in Sports Information Management from Georgetown University. Lil Cee’s educational pursuits set him on the path to his dream job of becoming a Sports Agent.

Carrington would later harness his own passion for sports to impact the lives of athletes across the country either as coach, mentor, trainer, scout or some combination. Carrington received a number of accolades including, but not limited to: Most Valuable Player, Holy Family senior boys basketball (2003); Daniel Delante Bell award for most outstanding tournament player in the mid-Atlantic (2003); Reginald T. Cureton Scholarship from the 100 Black Men of Greater Washington (2007); induction into the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society (2008); The Signa Society Founders Scholarship (2008); and Morehouse College Men’s Basketball Team Leader in Assists (2009-2010) as starting point guard; and recognition as #3 in assists and #7 in steals in the Southern Inter-Collegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). His most prestigious award was the role of big brother to Brandon L. Carter, an honor he cherished most of all. Lil Cee adored Eboné Gaskins, the only person to have affectionately earned the title of big sister.

Carrington II was baptized at Glendale Baptist Church in July 1999 and was a member of the teen and athletic ministries. Lil Cee cherished his family and had hundreds of friends that he treasured to include his church family, coaches, teammates, players he coached and mentees from coast to coast.

In memory of our beloved Carrington R. Carter II, family and friends established the Carrington Carter II Charity, Inc., which is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. The charity provides support and mentorship to develop creative solutions and alternatives to drug usage, alcohol abuse, and gun violence, with the ultimate goal of developing leaders of the future. The charity’s mission is: to provide financial support to qualified student-athletes; and to offer support where communities are challenged by social, cultural, economic or other adverse conditions.
